Bauromat Backed Bryant Celebrates First Win, But Suffers With More Mechanical Woes

Will Bryant, the Bauromat backed motorcycle rider, celebrated his first race win of the 2019 season at the weekend, but it was a round of mixed fortune for the 2018 Pre-Injection 700 champion.

After limited qualifying on Friday due to technical problems, Bryant managed to secure 4th in class (16th overall) in his first full qualifying session on his Tigcraft TZ350, after using the early parts as a brief but critical testing session.

Despite a sluggish start which dropped him as far down as 23rd overall, Bryant fought back with the racing finesse which saw him take the 2018 Pre-Injection 700 crown, recovering to not only regain places lost at the start, but continue up the field and take the class victory.

“I’m happy with that” he said

“We had a few problems during testing, so I was going in blind again, but I’m glad to get my first win on the new bike”.

Bryant celebrates victory in race one.

However, the celebrations only lasted on the Saturday with Bryant suffering from more misfortune during Sunday’s races two and three.

Despite a better start in race two, putting him in contention for another strong result, as Bryant started lap three and approached the tricky right hander of turn one, he suffered from a high side and retired from the race.

The bike, ran by Mike Holt, was quickly fixed and ready to go for the final race of the meeting, but yet another technical gremlin forced Bryant to another DNF.

This means that from a possible 6 races, Bryant has only finished once – the win at Snetterton – and currently lies in 9th in the Two Stroke Cup Championship.

“It was a weekend of highs and lows” he reflected.

“I’ve still got a lot to learn on the new bike, but we’ve proved it has the pace to win.”

The championship heads to Midland’s circuit Donington Park next month (May 11-12) where Shrewsbury-based Bryant rider Bryant, will be looking for a haul of points to get the 2019 season back on track.
